Valley National Bancorp announced on September 27, 2026, that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Bluevine Inc. The transaction, valued at approximately $340 million in aggregate consideration, is intended to be approximately 75% cash and 25% Valley common stock. The deal is expected to close in early 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
Bluevine is a digital banking platform focused on small businesses. As of June 2026, the company served approximately 175,000 active small business customers. The acquisition is projected to add approximately $2.1 billion of low-cost, digitally-sourced deposits to Valley’s balance sheet. Additionally, Bluevine’s engineering and data science talent, including approximately 180 research and development professionals, will be integrated to accelerate Valley’s technology and artificial intelligence strategy.
Valley National Bancorp is a regional financial institution with over $66 billion in assets and more than 220 branch locations. The combined entity aims to enhance its small business franchise and core funding capabilities by integrating Bluevine’s digital platform with Valley’s existing branch network and treasury management solutions.
