Vaalco Energy, Inc. announced the successful completion of its offshore Gabon Phase 3 drilling program on October 7, 2026. The company reported that the ETSEM-3H development well has been drilled, completed, and placed into production. Located in an attic position within the SE Etame field, the well features a lateral wellbore of 300 meters of net pay in high-quality Gamba reservoir sands.
The well achieved a stabilized initial flow rate of approximately 2,000 gross barrels of oil per day (BOPD), with 1,140 BOPD attributed to Vaalco. Following the completion of this well, the Phase 3 drilling program is finished, and the Borr Norve drilling rig has been demobilized from the SE Etame platform.
In addition to the Gabon operations, Vaalco provided an update on its offshore Côte d'Ivoire assets. The company has commenced the Baobab Phase 5 drilling operations, beginning with the batch-setting of top-holes for the wells. The Phase 5 campaign is planned to include four producers, three water injectors, and two workovers. The company anticipates that the first new producer well will be brought online near the end of 2026, with meaningful production growth expected in 2027.
