U.S. GoldMining Inc. (NASDAQ: USGO) issued an update on November 2, 2026, regarding the West Susitna Access Project (WSAP). The WSAP is a state-led initiative designed to connect the Company’s 100%-owned Whistler Gold-Copper Project with existing infrastructure in Anchorage.
The Company reported that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) issued a Public Notice on September 25, 2026, regarding the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority’s (AIDEA) permit application for the WSAP under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. The comment period for this notice has concluded, and the USACE is currently conducting its evaluation of the application.
The Company highlighted several factors accelerating the permitting process. The USACE determined the permit request qualifies for special emergency permitting procedures under Executive Order 14156, which is expected to significantly reduce normal processing times. Additionally, the USACE identified the WSAP as a critical mineral project under Executive Order 14241.
Further support for the project comes from the State of Alaska. The Governor has formally requested assistance from the Assistant Secretary of the Army of Civil Works under Executive Order 14153 to maximize the state’s resource potential. The U.S. Department of Transportation recently awarded $249 million to complete the 32-mile Port MacKenzie rail extension, with AIDEA committing up to $34 million in matching funds.
The Company also noted progress at neighboring properties. Nova Minerals Corp, which owns the Estelle Gold and Critical Minerals Project adjacent to the Whistler deposit, received final approvals from the Alaska Department of Natural Resources for its Plan of Operations and Reclamation Plan. Nova Minerals disclosed it secured all required permits for Phase 1 within approximately three months of submission.
CEO Tim Smith commented on the developments, noting that the progress of the WSAP and the granting of permits to neighboring properties indicate Alaska is open for business. The Company stated it looks forward to updating investors on results from recent exploratory drilling and surface sampling programs at the Whistler Project.
