Amid a broader market downturn, Tron (TRX) has emerged as a rare bright spot in the decentralized finance sector. According to the latest data from the on-chain funding TVL pool, Tron’s Total Value Locked (TVL) increased by 1.15% over the last 24 hours, reaching $5.59 billion. This growth marks a significant divergence from the rest of the market, as Tron is currently the only blockchain in the monitored pool to post positive daily TVL growth.
While other major networks like Ethereum and Solana are experiencing flat or negative trends, Tron’s resilience suggests a net capital inflow into its ecosystem. This surge in demand is directly linked to the utility of TRX, the chain's native gas and staking asset, as increased DeFi activity drives the need for more TRX to facilitate transactions and secure the network.
The bullish momentum is further supported by a massive exodus of USDT from centralized exchanges, specifically Bitfinex. Data from the exchange reserve flow pool indicates that USDT balances on Bitfinex declined by 175.9 million, a staggering -44.98% drop. Given Tron’s status as a primary chain for USDT circulation, this liquidity is likely migrating to self-custody or on-chain DeFi applications rather than being redeemed for fiat currency.
Consequently, a portion of this capital appears to be flowing into Tron-based DeFi protocols, boosting the network's TVL and increasing the demand for TRX as a settlement layer. This dynamic is reinforced by a $383.5 million contraction in the USDT market cap, which may reflect a reallocation of stablecoin liquidity toward on-chain Tron settlements.

However, the bullish thesis relies heavily on the sustainability of this inflow; if Tron’s TVL reverses negative on the next daily snapshot, or if on-chain data indicates that USDT is not actually migrating to Tron for DeFi purposes, the narrative of capital rotation would likely collapse.
