Telomir Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:TELO) announced on September 14, 2026, that research conducted by The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine has demonstrated that its lead compound, Telomir-Zn, produces inhibition of cell growth across human and canine osteosarcoma models. The study, led by Shay Bracha, D.V.M., M.S., D.A.C.V.I.M. (Oncology), evaluated the dose-dependent anti-tumor activity of Telomir-Zn using three specific cell line models: HOS (human), D17 (canine), and Abrams (canine).
According to the filing, all three osteosarcoma cell lines demonstrated growth inhibition at similar low drug concentrations. The findings establish a translational foundation for evaluating the compound in a naturally occurring disease setting. Telomir noted that osteosarcoma is the most common primary bone malignancy in children and young adults, with survival rates for metastatic disease remaining below 30%. In veterinary medicine, the disease is similarly devastating in large-breed dogs.
The company stated that its immediate clinical focus remains its Telomir-Zn program in advanced or metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), which is advancing toward site initiation and Phase 1/2 patient enrollment under an active Investigational New Drug (IND) application cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
In parallel with the TNBC program, Telomir is in discussions with The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine to assess next steps for a potential in vivo efficacy study in canine osteosarcoma. The company believes this parallel development pathway could provide an additional opportunity to explore the potential applicability of Telomir-Zn across multiple oncology indications.
