Super Micro Computer, Inc. (SMCI) announced a preliminary business update for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (Q1’27), which ended on September 30, 2026. The company reported that its unaudited financial results for the period exceeded its previously issued guidance.

Regarding revenue, Supermicro estimated that Q1’27 revenues would fall within a range of $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion. This range is significantly higher than the company’s previous guidance of $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion. The company attributed this increase primarily to higher demand for its AI platforms.

In terms of profitability, Supermicro estimated that its gross margins for the quarter would be between 12.0% and 12.5%. This is an improvement over the prior guidance of 10.4% to 10.8%. The company stated that the margin expansion was driven by changes in the customer and product mix.

Management emphasized that these figures are preliminary estimates based on management's estimates and are inherently uncertain. The company noted that actual results may differ materially from these preliminary figures due to financial closing procedures and finalization of financial statements. The company will host a conference call to review these results on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. ET.
