Sunshine Silver Mining & Refining Company announced on September 18, 2026, that its common stock has been added to the VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF (GDXJ). The inclusion becomes effective at market close on the same day.
The company noted that this addition marks a milestone following its initial public offering, which began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on June 4, 2026. Sunshine Silver stated that the inclusion is expected to increase visibility among institutional and retail investors, expand passive ownership, and support trading liquidity.
According to the filing, Sunshine Silver is advancing the Sunshine Mine in Idaho’s Silver Valley, which the company describes as the most prolific silver district in U.S. history and North America’s highest-grade primary silver resource. The company also controls a consolidated land position with significant exploration potential and is evaluating additional value opportunities through silver/copper refining and antimony production.
Heather White, Chief Executive Officer of Sunshine Silver, commented that the inclusion will introduce the company’s story to a broader group of precious metals investors. The company emphasized that its focus remains on disciplined execution and advancing the Sunshine Mine toward a planned return to production in late 2028.
