Snap Inc. (NYSE: SNAP) announced new enterprise partnerships with Salesforce Inc., Nvidia Corp., and Amazon Web Services to enhance the capabilities of its augmented reality glasses, known as SPECS. Following the announcement, Snap's shares rose more than 4% in extended trading.
The company revealed that Salesforce is integrating its Agentforce AI into SPECS. This integration is designed to allow workers to identify objects, create service cases, and update workflows without switching between tasks and separate screens. Additionally, Snap is working to connect the glasses to Amazon Quick, AWS's workplace AI assistant, to facilitate information access within existing workflows.
Nvidia will provide its XR AI stack to power the glasses, enabling the devices to understand a worker's surroundings and provide real-time guidance. Snap stated that the companies are exploring how these capabilities can support various enterprise workflows.
The partnerships also include deals with Trifork and Hololight. Snap did not disclose the financial terms of these agreements. The company first unveiled SPECS in June at a price point of $2,195. Customers can currently try the glasses hands-on at a demo experience starting in October at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles, with demos offered at Verizon Communications Inc. stores later. Shipping is expected to begin in the U.S., the U.K., and France later this fall.
Snap CEO Evan Spiegel previously stated that he does not expect mass-market adoption of the glasses before the end of the decade. The device is priced significantly higher than competitors, with Meta Platforms Inc. smart glasses starting at $299 and Apple Inc.'s Vision Pro starting at $3,699.
Snap closed 1.89% lower on the regular session at $250.54 and climbed 4.2% in after-hours trading.
