Shoulder Innovations, Inc. (NYSE: SI) announced on October 8, 2026, that it has initiated a limited user release of the InSet Go, the company's next-generation glenoid implant. The launch follows the successful completion of the first surgical case utilizing the device, which was performed by Robert Gillespie, MD, of University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
The InSet Go is designed for use in anatomic shoulder arthroplasty procedures. The InSet glenoid technology was originally invented more than 20 years ago by Stephen Gunther, MD, to address the leading cause of failure in anatomic shoulder replacement: glenoid implant loosening. The design imprints the implant within a circumferential rim of hard, supportive bone to eliminate the rocking horse mechanism that leads to loosening.
The next-generation InSet Go maintains this original design principle to preserve bone and maximize implant stability. The company states the device further streamlines the operating room experience by reducing the surgical steps involved, potentially offering reduced procedure times. The next-generation implant incorporates additional intellectual property protecting key technical components, including the complex articular surface and the InSet PLUS augmented configurations for correcting bone loss.
According to the filing, the company has received a robust commercial response to the launch. Rob Ball, CEO of Shoulder Innovations, noted that the device builds on a decade-long track record of trust among surgeons and patients, now paired with a more efficient procedure for the surgical team and care facility.
