Selective Insurance Group, Inc. announced on September 16, 2026, that it has appointed Wole C. Coaxum as a non-employee director. The appointment is effective immediately, and Mr. Coaxum has also been named to the Board’s Audit Committee and Compensation and Human Capital Committee.

With this appointment, the size of Selective’s Board of Directors has increased from 12 members to 13. The company notes that 12 of the 13 directors are independent.

Mr. Coaxum previously served as an independent director for Selective from 2020 to 2025. He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of On Our Block, a New York-based firm that provides strategic advisory services and supports capital-raising for owner-operated businesses. Prior to this, he founded Mobility Capital Finance, Inc. (MoCaFi), a digital banking platform, where he served as CEO from 2015 until its wind-down in 2026.

Before his tenure at Selective, Mr. Coaxum spent a decade at Citigroup and five years at Willis Group Holdings, where he held senior executive positions in both the U.S. and Canada. He later joined JPMorganChase in 2007 as a Managing Director, responsible for commercial credit card sales and relationship management.

Mr. Coaxum will serve on the Board until the Company’s 2027 Annual Meeting of Stockholders or until his successor has been duly elected and qualified. Regarding compensation, he will receive the same benefits as other non-employee directors, consistent with the program detailed in the company’s March 26, 2026, proxy statement. However, he will not receive an annual equity award for fiscal year 2026, as the 2026 Annual Meeting had already occurred. His annual cash retainer for 2026 will be prorated for the period from his appointment through December 31, 2026.

John J. Marchioni, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Selective, stated that Mr. Coaxum brings extensive expertise in financial services and FinTech, along with an entrepreneurial leadership background and a strong commitment to increasing economic access.
