SCYNEXIS, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCYX) has announced a leadership change within its executive team, effective September 9, 2026. The company has appointed Sanjay Subramanian as Chief Financial Officer, replacing Ivor Macleod, who is retiring.
Mr. Macleod, who served as CFO since 2022, will remain with the company through October 9, 2026, to facilitate a smooth transition. In his retirement announcement, Mr. Macleod expressed pride in the team's accomplishments and confidence in the company's future.
Mr. Subramanian, age 50, brings over 20 years of experience in finance, capital markets, and business development. Prior to joining SCYNEXIS, he served as CFO and Head of Business Development at Inozyme Pharma, where he played a key role in the company's acquisition by BioMarin Pharmaceutical. He also previously held CFO and corporate development roles at Ocugen, Inc., and held finance leadership positions at Aralez Pharmaceuticals, Bausch Health Companies, and General Motors.
The company stated that Mr. Subramanian has no family relationships with any director or officer, nor does he have any material interest in any transaction required to be disclosed. In connection with his appointment, Mr. Subramanian was granted an option to purchase 100,000 shares of common stock at an exercise price of $4.91, the closing price on September 9, 2026. The option has a ten-year term and vests over four years.
Under the terms of his employment agreement, Mr. Subramanian will receive an annual base salary of $500,000, a one-time sign-on bonus of $20,000, and a discretionary annual performance bonus of up to 40% of his base salary. The agreement also includes severance benefits, which provide nine months of base salary and accelerated equity vesting if terminated without cause, or 18 months of base salary and full accelerated vesting if terminated within 12 months of a change of control.
Dr. David Angulo, President and CEO of SCYNEXIS, welcomed Mr. Subramanian to the team, stating that his experience in capital markets and strategic growth will be valuable as the company advances its pipeline. Dr. Angulo also thanked Mr. Macleod for his nearly four years of service and his contributions to the company's financial position.
