RF Industries, Ltd. (NASDAQ: RFIL) announced financial results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026, which ended on July 31, 2026. The company reported record net sales of $23.96 million for the quarter, representing a 21% increase compared to the prior year period and a 16% increase from the second quarter of fiscal 2026.
The company’s backlog stood at $18.6 million at the end of the third quarter, with total bookings for the period reaching $22.5 million. Management noted that as of September 14, 2026, the backlog had increased to $19.8 million.
RF Industries reported a gross profit margin of 35.6% for the third quarter, an improvement of 160 basis points from the 34% margin recorded in the prior year period. This margin expansion contributed to a significant increase in operating income, which rose to $1.8 million from $720,000 in the prior year.
Consolidated net income for the quarter was $1.44 million, or $0.12 per diluted share, a 267% increase from $392,000, or $0.04 per diluted share, in the prior year. Non-GAAP net income was reported at $2.2 million, or $0.19 per diluted share, compared to $1.1 million, or $0.10 per diluted share, in the third quarter of fiscal 2025. Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter was $2.7 million, up from $1.6 million in the prior year period.
Robert Dawson, Chief Executive Officer of RF Industries, stated that the results reflect operating leverage as revenue scales above the $20 million quarterly run rate. The company attributes its margin expansion to a multi-year mix shift toward higher-value solutions, including custom cabling and integrated systems offerings, which have diversified its end markets into aerospace, edge data centers, AI infrastructure, transportation, and public safety.
