Oncolytics Biotech Inc. (Nasdaq: ONCY) reported on October 14, 2026, regarding the status of its GOBLET clinical study and the completion of a grant agreement. The Company stated that it expects to receive the final payment under its grant from the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) later in the current quarter. This payment follows the completion of specific activities within Cohort 5 of the GOBLET study.
The GOBLET study is a phase 1/2 multiple indication trial focused on advanced or metastatic gastrointestinal tumors. It is being conducted at 17 centers in Germany and managed by AIO-Studien-gGmbH. The study comprises five treatment cohorts, each evaluating pelareorep in combination with various therapies, including atezolizumab (Tecentriq) and chemotherapy. The co-primary endpoints of the study are objective response rate and/or disease control rate and safety.
Enrollment for the broader GOBLET study has been completed. Oncolytics is now winding down the study infrastructure while continuing treatment and follow-up for patients in the remaining cohorts. The Company expects to report final results from Cohort 4 in the fourth quarter of 2026. Initial results from Cohort 5 are expected in the first half of 2027, though timelines may be extended as multiple patients continue treatment and follow-up.
Cohort 4 is evaluating pelareorep with atezolizumab in patients with second-line and later squamous cell anal carcinoma. Cohort 5 is evaluating pelareorep-based therapy in combination with chemotherapy with and without atezolizumab in patients with first-line metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The Company noted that each cohort that enrolled the required number of patients met its pre-specified success criteria for efficacy. Additionally, the Company reported that the median overall survival in Cohort 4 exceeds expectations.
The Company stated that it will use the clinical data generated by the GOBLET study to focus and guide its strategy to combine pelareorep with a checkpoint inhibitor in gastrointestinal and additional tumors.
