Once Upon a Farm, PBC announced on November 2, 2026, that it is voluntarily recalling its Tractor Wheels product line following reports of potential choking hazards. The recall was triggered after the company received a single complaint from a parent regarding a choking incident involving the product. Upon investigation, the company was informed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that it had received three total reports of choking incidents related to the items, one of which the company had not previously received.

John Foraker, Chief Executive Officer, stated that the company’s teams reviewed production records and product retains to determine a root cause, but have not yet identified a specific link to the incidents. Because the FDA reports did not specify which flavors or lot codes were involved, the company decided to recall all Tractor Wheels flavors and stock-keeping units (SKUs). The company emphasized that no reported injuries have been confirmed, but the safety of consumers remains the top priority.

To manage the situation, Once Upon a Farm has engaged with retail partners to remove inventory from stores and online listings. The company has also added a dedicated section to its website and email communications to inform consumers. The brand noted that the Tractor Wheels products account for approximately 18% of total company net sales year-to-date.

Regarding its financial position, the company reported $106.4 million in cash and cash equivalents as of September 30, 2026, with no outstanding debt. Additionally, the company has up to $95 million in borrowing capacity available under its existing credit facilities, subject to terms and conditions. The company stated that it is currently assessing the financial impact of the recall, including product, retailer, and recall-related costs, and is evaluating potential insurance recoveries. The company expects to announce its complete financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026, on November 12, 2026.
