Northern Trust Corporation announced that Chief Financial Officer David W. Fox, Jr., intends to retire from his position. According to the company's Form 8-K filed on September 28, 2026, Fox informed the Corporation of his plans to retire effective on or around March 31, 2027.

Fox will remain in his role through the end of the first quarter of 2027 to support an orderly transition. During this period, he will continue to lead the Finance division and collaborate with Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael O’Grady and the leadership team to maintain continuity across the company’s financial, regulatory, investor, and strategic priorities.

Northern Trust stated that it plans to conduct a comprehensive search for a new Chief Financial Officer. The company noted that Fox has been with Northern Trust since 2012, serving as CFO where he oversaw global financial strategy, functions, and operations. Prior to his tenure at Northern Trust, Fox spent more than 25 years at JPMorgan in New York, London, and Chicago.

As of June 30, 2026, Northern Trust reported assets under custody/administration of US$20.0 trillion and assets under management of US$2.0 trillion.
