The company reported worldwide net sales of $555 million for the quarter, representing a 4 percent increase compared to the prior year and a 1 percent increase sequentially. For the first nine months of 2026, consolidated sales totaled $1.7 billion, up 6 percent over the prior year.

The Consumer & Specialties segment recorded sales of $278 million, which was flat with the prior year but 1 percent higher sequentially. However, segment operating income decreased 34 percent from the prior year to $25 million due to higher energy, transportation, and raw material costs that were not fully recovered in the quarter.
In contrast, the Engineered Solutions segment saw sales rise 9 percent year-over-year to $277 million, with segment operating income increasing 9 percent to $49 million and an operating margin of 17.6 percent. Sales growth in this segment was driven by higher volumes for steel and foundry customers, as well as increased demand for environmental lining and remediation products.
On the corporate balance sheet, MTI completed a $400 million private offering of 7.5 percent senior notes due in 2032 on October 13, 2026. Additionally, the company amended its credit agreement to increase the revolving credit facility capacity from $400 million to $500 million and extend the maturity to 2031.
