MetaVia Inc. (Nasdaq: MTVA) announced on October 28, 2026, that an abstract highlighting data from the Phase 1 clinical trial of its candidate DA-1726 has been accepted for an oral presentation at the Precision Liver Symposium 2026.
The presentation is scheduled for November 4, 2026, at the Hilton Denver City Center in Denver, Colorado, and will be delivered by Sarah Browne, M.D., the Chief Medical Officer of MetaVia.
The presentation, titled "DA-1726, a Dual GLP-1 and Glucagon Receptor Agonist, Leads to Significant Reduction in MRI-PDFF and Weight Loss with Relative Preservation of Lean Mass: A Randomized Placebo-Controlled Trial," will take place at 1:35 pm Mountain Time.
DA-1726 is a novel oxyntomodulin analog functioning as a dual agonist for GLP-1 receptors (GLP1R) and glucagon receptors (GCGR). The candidate is designed to be administered once weekly via subcutaneous injection for the treatment of metabolic disease.
According to the company, in a Phase 1 multiple ascending dose (MAD) trial in obesity, the 32 mg dose of DA-1726 demonstrated potential for weight loss, glucose control, and waist circumference reduction. Pre-clinical studies indicated that DA-1726 resulted in improved weight loss compared to semaglutide (Wegovy) and elicited similar weight reduction while consuming more food compared to tirzepatide (Zepbound) and survodutide, while also preserving lean body mass.
MetaVia is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on cardiometabolic diseases. The company is currently developing DA-1726 for treatment across multiple indications and is also developing vanoglipel (DA-1241) for Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH).
