Main Street Capital Corporation (NYSE: MAIN) announced preliminary estimates for its fiscal third quarter of 2026 on October 15, 2026. The company reported that its distributable net investment income before taxes is expected to be between $0.96 and $1.00 per share, while distributable net investment income is estimated at $0.94 to $0.98 per share.

The company also reported a preliminary net asset value (NAV) per share of $34.18 to $34.26 as of September 30, 2026. This represents an increase of $0.26 to $0.34 per share, or 0.8% to 1.0%, from the NAV per share of $33.92 as of June 30, 2026. The increase is attributed to net fair value appreciation on the investment portfolio, including realized and unrealized activity, and the accretive impact of equity issuances, partially offset by dividends paid and the net tax provision.

Main Street estimates that its investments on non-accrual status comprised 0.9% of the total investment portfolio at fair value and 3.5% at cost as of September 30, 2026. Additionally, the company’s wholly-owned investment fund, Main Street Mezzanine Fund, LP, received approval from the U.S. Small Business Administration to increase its borrowing capacity by $75.0 million to $250.0 million. Combined with another wholly-owned fund, Main Street Capital III, LP, the company has access to $425.0 million of the increased regulatory maximum SBIC debenture borrowing capacity.

Main Street Capital released the following investment activity for its lower middle market and private loan strategies during the third quarter: $61.5 million in total LMM portfolio investments resulted in a net decrease of $19.4 million in the total cost basis of the LMM investment portfolio, and $162.0 million in total private loan portfolio investments resulted in a net decrease of $1.8 million in the total cost basis of the private loan investment portfolio.

Main Street will release its full third quarter 2026 results on Thursday, November 5, 2026, after the financial markets close. A conference call is scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time.
