Leidos Holdings, Inc. announced on October 1, 2026, that it has appointed Jeffery S. McElfresh to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Mr. McElfresh joins the company from AT&T, where he has served as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. McElfresh will serve on the board's Corporate Governance and Ethics and Technology and Information Security committees. According to the filing, Mr. McElfresh’s career spans more than 30 years at AT&T. Currently, he oversees the company’s $250 billion nationwide advanced connectivity infrastructure transformation. The company highlighted that this expertise aligns well with Leidos’ core digital work and expanding energy infrastructure business. Prior roles at AT&T included oversight of cybersecurity, data management, and labs. Before joining AT&T, Mr. McElfresh began his career as a defense tech engineer on aerospace and maritime projects.
With the addition of Mr. McElfresh, Leidos’ Board of Directors will increase to 11 members. Board Chair Bob Shapard commented on the appointment, stating that the depth and breadth of Mr. McElfresh’s experience and leadership will strengthen the board’s independent oversight. CEO Tom Bell noted that his insights will be invaluable as the company advances its NorthStar 2030 growth strategy.
