Johnson & Johnson has announced the final overall survival analysis for the PAPILLON trial, which evaluated the combination of its drug Rybrevant (amivantamab) with chemotherapy in patients with first-line small cell lung cancer (SCLC).

The data indicates that the combination therapy reduced the risk of death by 43 percent compared to chemotherapy alone. This figure was adjusted for crossover, meaning patients who switched treatments were accounted for in the analysis. The trial included patients with extensive-stage disease who had not previously received chemotherapy.

Rybrevant is an antibody-drug conjugate that targets the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and the receptor tyrosine kinase ligand AXL. The PAPILLON trial is designed to assess the efficacy and safety of this treatment regimen in this specific patient population.
