Jasper Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: JSPR) announced on October 15, 2026, the completion of enrollment for the IgA nephropathy (IgAN) cohort of its Phase 2 basket study. The study is evaluating vensobafusp alfa (KP104), a first-in-class bifunctional biologic designed to target both the alternative and terminal complement pathways.
The IgAN cohort, which consists of 18 patients, is divided into three groups of six patients each. These groups are receiving different maintenance dosing schedules following an induction regimen: subcutaneous injections every two weeks, every four weeks, or every eight weeks. The objective of this initial stage is to assess the safety, tolerability, and initial efficacy of the treatment.
Jasper expects to report initial interim data from this cohort by the end of 2026. Additionally, the company has accelerated the initiation of a new cohort to evaluate vensobafusp alfa in patients with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). The first patient in this FSGS cohort is anticipated to be dosed in the first quarter of 2027.
The Phase 2 basket study is being conducted in China to provide proof-of-concept for vensobafusp alfa across several renal diseases, including IgAN, complement 3 glomerulopathy (C3G), and FSGS. Vensobafusp alfa is an investigational agent that has been granted Orphan Drug Designation by the FDA for the treatment of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH).
