Iron Horse Acquisition II Corp. (Nasdaq: IRHO) and Electra AI, the developer of the "AI Brain for Batteries" platform, announced on September 22, 2026, that they have achieved significant commercial and strategic milestones since signing a definitive Business Combination Agreement (BCA) on April 21, 2026. The transaction, valued at approximately $250 million including earn-out targets, is expected to close in the second half of 2026.

Since the agreement was signed, Electra AI has expanded its commercial footprint across several sectors. The company has deployed its battery analytics technology with Mooving, a smart battery-swapping network in India, to monitor and optimize battery packs. Additionally, Propel Industries, a leader in mining and construction equipment, selected Electra to monitor electric mining assets, and Omega Seiki Mobility, an Indian EV manufacturer, partnered with the company to integrate battery health intelligence into its ecosystem.

Strategically, Electra has broadened its platform capabilities through new partnerships. In August 2026, the company entered a technical collaboration with MinTech, a KOSDAQ-listed Korean firm, to use AI for battery energy storage system (BESS) risk prediction. Electra also partnered with Naoris Quantum Protocol in June to integrate post-quantum cybersecurity with its platform and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with D-Orbit in May to bring battery intelligence to satellites.

Other notable developments include the appointment of Carmine Villani, President & CEO of Crown MFO Group, to Electra’s Strategic Advisory Board in May. The companies also filed a registration statement on Form S-4 with the SEC in May and completed a rebranding of the company to Electra AI in May. Upon closing, the combined company is expected to operate under the ticker symbol "AIBR" on Nasdaq.
