HIVE Digital Technologies Appoints Mark Volk as Senior VP of Revenue at BUZZ HPC

HIVE Digital Technologies Ltd. announced the appointment of Mark Volk as Senior Vice President of Revenue for its wholly owned subsidiary, BUZZ High Performance Computing Inc. (BUZZ HPC). Mr. Volk will lead BUZZ HPC's global go-to-market strategy across enterprise, government, sovereign AI, hyperscale, research, and academic markets. His mandate includes commercializing GPU-powered AI infrastructure, including sovereign AI cloud, GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS), colocation, and hybrid AI solutions.

Mr. Volk brings nearly three decades of experience in AI and high-performance computing. Prior to joining BUZZ HPC, he served as CEO of CiphexAI Corporation. He also spent five years at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), where he served as Vice President of Federal for Canada and General Manager of HPC & AI Commercial for the Americas. During his tenure at HPE, the HPC and AI business grew approximately 425% to more than $2 billion in revenue. He previously held worldwide leadership roles at IBM, managing a portfolio of approximately $1.2 billion, and helped launch IBM's first HPC Cloud SaaS offering, growing that business approximately 200% in less than two years.

In addition to the leadership appointment, the company reported preliminary, unaudited management estimates regarding its daily revenue. As of the date of the announcement, the company estimated that its average daily revenue exceeded approximately $1 million from the combined production of hashrate services and GPU cloud services. The company noted that since August 21, 2026, it has produced an average of approximately 12 Bitcoin per day, representing about 2% of global Bitcoin network production, while its GPU cloud operations generated approximately $100,000 in average daily revenue.

The company also stated that it intends to wind down Bitcoin mining at its Swedish facilities, which represented less than 5% of the company's global daily revenue during August. Management indicated that it is evaluating the repurposing of this infrastructure toward higher-value HPC and AI applications.
