Fluence Energy, Inc. announced a leadership transition on October 30, 2026, effective immediately. Julian Nebreda has departed from his position as President and Chief Executive Officer, as well as from the Board of Directors, with the departure not resulting from any disagreement with the company.

In a related move, Axel Meier has been appointed as the interim Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Meier, age 63, previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Siemens Smart Infrastructure from April 2019 until June 2026. His appointment as interim CEO is effective November 2, 2026. He will also serve on the Board of Directors for a term expiring at the company’s 2027 annual meeting of stockholders.

Simultaneously, Ricardo Roizen was appointed as the interim Chief Financial Officer, replacing Ahmed Pasha. Mr. Roizen, age 47, is being seconded from his role as Chief Financial Officer of AES Andes S.A. to the interim CFO position at Fluence. His appointment is effective immediately.

In connection with his appointment, Axel Meier entered into an offer letter with Fluence. The letter stipulates an annual base salary of $1,015,000. Mr. Meier is eligible to receive a discretionary cash bonus for the successful completion of the transition and the placement of a permanent President and CEO. However, due to the interim nature of the role, he is not eligible to participate in the company’s Executive Severance Plan. He is eligible for standard health and welfare benefits and retirement plans, including a 401(k) plan with a company matching contribution of 100% of employee contributions up to 5% of gross salary.

Additionally, the company reported the departure of John Zahurancik, Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Success Officer, effective October 30, 2026. Messrs. Nebreda, Pasha, and Zahurancik are eligible for severance benefits under the company’s Executive Severance Plan.
