The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago announced on October 28, 2026, that its Board of Directors has declared dividends for the third quarter of 2026. The dividends are based on the Bank’s preliminary financial results.

The declared rates are 9.75% (annualized) for Class B1 activity stock and 3.75% (annualized) for Class B2 membership stock. These dividends will be paid to member DID accounts on November 13, 2026.

The Bank stated that it pays a higher dividend on activity stock to recognize members who support the cooperative by using its products. The Bank noted that this higher dividend effectively lowers borrowing costs by an estimated 26.77 basis points.

In addition to the declared dividend, the Bank provided guidance for the fourth quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027. FHLBank Chicago expects to maintain at least a 9.50% (annualized) dividend for Class B1 activity stock during this period, based on current projections.

The Bank emphasized that any future dividend payments remain subject to the determination and declaration of the Board of Directors and may be impacted by changes in financial or economic conditions, regulatory requirements, and other factors.
