Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc. has announced the receipt of an $87,018,601 advance under the second tranche of its loan agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Dominance Financing. The funding was disbursed on September 10, 2026, by the Federal Financing Bank, marking the third advance under the company's promissory note. This latest draw brings the total amount drawn from the DOE facility since 2024 to approximately $178 million.
The press release accompanying the filing indicates that the advance reimburses 80% of eligible costs associated with the company’s Thorn Hill manufacturing facility in Warrendale, Pennsylvania. The funds are intended to support the construction and operation of the facility's second production line, which entered commercial production in June 2026. Eos expects the second line to ramp toward an annual manufacturing capacity of approximately 2 GWh.
Management projects that upon the completion of the planned relocation of the first production line to Thorn Hill—subject to lender approvals—the facility will support approximately 4 GWh of annual manufacturing capacity across two lines. The company stated that running two lines under one roof is expected to drive more efficient use of engineering, support resources, and labor, enabling increased productivity and optimized manufacturing costs. Eos also indicated plans to create jobs across four shifts to staff the second line as it continues to ramp toward full production.
The DOE transaction documents, which include a Note Purchase Agreement and a Loan Guarantee Agreement, provide for an aggregate maximum principal amount of up to $277,497,000 and an aggregate maximum amount of capitalized interest of up to $25,953,000 for the Guaranteed Loan. The company operates in the long-duration energy storage sector, utilizing its Znyth technology for utility-scale, microgrid, commercial, and industrial applications.
