Duke Energy Corporation announced the appointment of Joyce Mullen to its Board of Directors, effective September 28, 2026. Ms. Mullen will serve a term that expires at the 2027 Annual Meeting of Shareholders. She has been assigned to the Audit Committee and the Operations and Nuclear Oversight Committee of the Board.

Ms. Mullen retired as president and chief executive officer of Insight Enterprises, Inc. in April 2026. At the time of her retirement, Insight was a Fortune 500 technology company. She remains with the organization as executive vice president of strategic development. Prior to her role at Insight, she served as president of North America for the company, where she led the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic while driving double-digit sales growth.

Before joining Insight, Ms. Mullen spent 21 years at Dell Technologies, holding numerous executive positions. Her roles there encompassed sales, operations, supply chain, partner strategy, services delivery, and logistics. Earlier in her career, she held leadership positions at Cummins Engine Company.

The Board has determined that Ms. Mullen is independent under the company’s Standards for Assessing Director Independence, the listing standards of the New York Stock Exchange, and SEC regulations. She currently serves on the board of directors of The Toro Company. Ms. Mullen holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Brown University.

As a non-employee director, Ms. Mullen will receive a pro-rated payment of the cash and stock annual retainer and will be eligible for other retainers in accordance with the company’s Director Compensation Program. She is also eligible to participate in the Directors’ Savings Plan and is subject to the company’s Stock Ownership Guidelines, which require outside directors to own common stock with a value equal to at least five times the annual Board cash retainer.
