Deep Fission, Inc. (Nasdaq: FISN) announced on October 20, 2026, that it has entered into a binding Master Energy Purchase Agreement with the Great Plains Development Authority (GPDA). The agreement converts a letter of intent signed in December 2025 into a definitive contract for a commercial nuclear power project located at the Great Plains Industrial Park in Parsons, Kansas.

The GPDA, a quasi-municipal entity, will purchase electricity generated by Deep Fission to satisfy the needs of industrial park tenants. The agreement allows GPDA to assign its purchase obligations to qualifying tenants. Notably, the agreement includes no minimum purchase obligation, meaning purchases are contingent on actual tenant demand.

The initial phase of the agreement covers an initial capacity of up to 150 megawatts (MW), with a targeted date of commercial operation on September 30, 2028. The agreement outlines a potential expansion to a total of 2,000 MW by 2031, pending further demand growth.

The project is situated on the site of Deep Fission’s Department of Energy pilot. The Great Plains Industrial Park covers more than 14,000 acres and is located on the site of a former U.S. Army ammunition plant. Deep Fission’s Gravity nuclear reactor is a pressurized water reactor designed to be placed approximately one mile underground, utilizing the surrounding water column and rock for pressure control and cooling.
