Yorkville Ives founder Dan Ives has identified three specific technology companies as the primary drivers of the next tech boom. In an appearance on the Global Money Talk podcast, Ives named Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: PLTR), Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ: NVDA), and Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) as the market leaders serving as the "backbones of the AI revolution."
Ives singled out Palantir, explicitly referring to the firm as the "Messi of AI" due to the execution story the company has built. He described Nvidia and Microsoft as foundational to the infrastructure phase of the market, noting that for every dollar spent on an Nvidia chip, there is a "$10 multiplier across the rest of tech."
Regarding infrastructure, Ives recently returned from a data center tour in rural Nebraska. He observed up to 1,500 data centers being built across the United States, describing these facilities as the "hearts and lungs of the AI revolution." He noted that this is the first time in 30 years the United States leads China in technology development, adding that these centers expand at a "jaw-dropping rate." Ives disputes claims that the AI market is a bubble, stating the sector is in year three of an "8 to 10 year buildup." He framed the growth trajectory by saying, "The AI party started at 9:30 p.m. It’s 11:30 p.m. around now. That party goes to 4:00 a.m."
Addressing recent volatility, Ives highlighted the software sell-off as a "top three surprise" in his 30 years in the market. He labeled the "SaaS apocalypse" narrative as the "most disconnected trade" he has seen, criticizing the idea that AI would wipe out software. He acknowledged that some legacy companies face an "uphill battle," but noted organizations will not "vibe code" and rip out established systems of record like Salesforce. Ives advised market participants to "tune out the noise, eye on the prize" rather than reacting to global news events.
