Costco Wholesale Corporation announced its operating results for the 16-week fourth quarter and the full 52-week fiscal year ended August 30, 2026. The company reported net sales of $93.9 billion for the fourth quarter, representing an 11.2% increase compared to the $84.4 billion recorded in the same period last year. For the full fiscal year, net sales increased 10.1% to $297.2 billion, up from $269.9 billion in the previous year.
Comparable sales figures were released for the quarter and the year, excluding the impacts of changes in gasoline prices and foreign exchange. For the 16-week quarter, total comparable sales increased 9.4%, with U.S. comparable sales rising 10.7% and digitally-enabled sales growing 19.5%. For the 52-week fiscal year, total comparable sales increased 6.6%, with U.S. comparable sales up 8.2% and digitally-enabled sales up 20.7%.
Regarding profitability, the company reported net income of $2.998 billion, or $6.75 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026. This figure compares to $2.610 billion, or $5.87 per diluted share, in the prior year. The company noted that this year's fourth quarter was positively impacted by a non-recurring benefit of $0.15 per diluted share from IEEPA tariff refunds received in the quarter, less partial reinvestment of those refunds in increased member values.
For the full fiscal year, net income was $9.226 billion, or $20.76 per diluted share. This compares to $8.099 billion, or $18.21 per diluted share, in the prior fiscal year. Costco currently operates 939 warehouses globally, including 647 in the United States and Puerto Rico, 115 in Canada, and locations in Mexico, Japan, the United Kingdom, Korea, Australia, Taiwan, China, Spain, France, Sweden, Iceland, and New Zealand.
