Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) announced on Tuesday that it has secured a multi-billion dollar agreement with Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ). The contract covers the supply of high-density optical fiber and connectivity solutions.

The agreement spans a six-year period from 2027 to 2032 and includes over 80 million miles of fiber. The deal is designed to support Verizon’s broadband expansion goals, which include adding 40 to 50 million broadband passings. It also aims to build the national long-haul network infrastructure required for next-generation artificial intelligence applications.

Corning will provide specific materials to support Verizon’s convergence strategy. The company will supply Corning Contour Flow Cable, a flexible ribbon cable that allows for significantly more optical fiber to be placed within existing conduit pathways. This technology is intended to maximize infrastructure investments while substantially increasing network capacity and bandwidth.

The deployment is also expected to support the expansion of Corning’s U.S. manufacturing footprint.
