Core Molding Technologies, Inc. (NYSE American: CMT) announced the promotion of Michael J. Gayford to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) in an 8-K filing dated September 28, 2026. The appointment is effective immediately.

In his expanded role, Mr. Gayford will assume operational responsibility for the Company’s North American operations. He will also oversee program management, advance research and development initiatives, and execute strategic programs aimed at accelerating growth and improving operational performance.

Mr. Gayford joined Core Molding Technologies in March 2023 as Vice President of Operations. He was subsequently promoted to Executive Vice President of Operations in 2025. In that capacity, he managed multi-site manufacturing operations across the United States and Canada and led the company’s Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Research and Development Organizations.

According to the filing, Mr. Gayford has more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, and operational leadership, including over 17 years in composite manufacturing. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Alfred State College.

Mr. Gayford will report to Eric Palomaki, the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, Arnold Alanis, Executive Vice President of Operations in Mexico, will report to Mr. Gayford.

The Company stated that it is not aware of any family relationships among Mr. Gayford or any arrangements or understandings regarding his selection as an executive officer.
