A member of the House Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Information Technology and Government Innovation recently disclosed a series of stock transactions involving two Magnificent Seven companies.

Representative John McGuire (R-Va.) executed a swap of Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) and Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) stock on August 18. The congressman sold between $1,000 and $15,000 worth of Apple shares and simultaneously purchased between $1,000 and $15,000 worth of Nvidia shares.

The timing of the Apple sale coincides with the transition of leadership at the company. Apple CEO Tim Cook is stepping down, and John Ternus is set to officially take over on September 1.

McGuire previously purchased Apple stock on April 15, 2026, for a value between $1,000 and $15,000. At the time of that purchase, Apple shares traded between $257.81 and $266.56. The shares were sold on August 18, when Apple traded between $305.74 and $311.49. This timing suggests McGuire realized a profit of between 14.7% and 20.8% on the position over a period of just over four months.

The Nvidia purchase adds to McGuire's existing position in the company. The congressman had previously bought Nvidia stock on January 30 and April 15, with both transactions falling within the $1,000 to $15,000 range.

According to data from Quiver Quantitative, McGuire has been active in the stock market since 2025, having executed 22 trades worth a total of $176,000. This volume ranks him among the lower end of members of Congress who buy and sell stocks.
