The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released the 2027 Medicare Advantage (MA) and Part D Star Ratings. The ratings evaluate the performance of health plans based on quality measures and member experience.

According to the data released, 37 percent of Medicare Advantage and Part D (MA-PD) contracts earned a rating of four stars or higher. This metric indicates the proportion of health plans that met specific quality benchmarks.

The ratings also highlight the enrollment distribution among plans. Seventy-one percent of Medicare Advantage and Part D enrollees are in plans that received a rating of four stars or higher.

The ratings are used to determine reimbursement rates and incentives for health plans participating in the Medicare program.
