The Cigna Group (NYSE: CI) filed a Current Report on Form 8-K on September 30, 2026, detailing its strategic outlook for the remainder of the year and the next five years. The company announced a new corporate vision titled "Lead to One," which aims to deliver personalization at scale to improve affordability and the patient experience across its health care businesses.
According to the filing, Cigna’s strategy is built on three pillars: delivering core growth through a deliberately shaped portfolio, leveraging distinct capabilities in complex care powered by clinical expertise and AI, and executing with discipline. The company highlighted its industry-leading complex care capabilities, noting that Evernorth Specialty & Care Services supports more than one million patients with complex conditions and delivers more than 8 million prescriptions annually.
The company reaffirmed its full-year 2026 financial guidance, which includes:
- Consolidated adjusted revenues of approximately $280 billion
- Consolidated adjusted earnings per share of at least $30.45
- Evernorth Health Services adjusted income from operations of at least $6.9 billion
- Cigna Healthcare adjusted income from operations of at least $4.55 billion
- A medical care ratio of 83.7% to 84.7%
In addition to the 2026 outlook, Cigna provided long-term targets through the end of 2030. The company expects an average annual adjusted earnings per share compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10% to 14% and approximately $50 billion in cumulative operating cash flow over the period.
To support these targets, Cigna announced a new $3 billion multi-year initiative focused on modernization and productivity. The company also disclosed a $10.5 million, three-year grant program through the Cigna Group Foundation to expand community support for patients and caregivers.
