Chatham Lodging Trust announced the appointment of William P. (Liam) Brown to its board of trustees on September 10, 2026. The appointment was made effective immediately and was recommended by the company’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Mr. Brown is an experienced executive in the lodging industry. He most recently served as Group President, United States and Canada of Marriott International, Inc., a position he held from January 2021 until his retirement in June 2026. In this role, he oversaw financial management and leadership for Marriott’s lodging operations in North and South America, which included more than 6,000 hotels and a workforce of approximately 160,000 associates.

Before his tenure at Marriott, Mr. Brown held several other leadership positions with the company. He served as President and Managing Director of Europe from 2018 to 2019 and as Group President of Europe, Middle East & Africa in 2020. He began his career with Marriott in 1989 and previously served as President for Franchising, Owner Services and Managed by Marriott Select Brands, North America from 2012 to 2018.

Chatham’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Jeffrey H. Fisher, noted that he has worked with Mr. Brown for 30 years and highlighted his extensive lodging expertise. The company stated that Mr. Brown will serve as an independent director and will bring insights from both an operations and franchisor/franchisee relationship perspective.

Mr. Brown currently serves on the board of EPR Properties (NYSE: EPR), a publicly traded diversified experiential net lease REIT, where he is a member of the Compensation & Human Capital Committee (Chair) and the Nominating/Company Governance Committee. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the American Hotel and Lodging Association.

According to the filing, Mr. Brown will serve as a trustee until the Company’s 2027 annual meeting of shareholders or until his successor is duly elected and qualified. He will receive a one-time initial grant of 5,000 restricted common shares and will be compensated in accordance with the Company’s Definitive Proxy Statement on Schedule 14A filed on March 31, 2026.
