CervoMed Inc. (NASDAQ: CRVO) announced on September 10, 2026, that initial results from its Phase 2a clinical trial of neflamapimod have been accepted as a late-breaking oral presentation at the International Society of Frontotemporal Dementias (ISFTD) Annual Meeting. The presentation is scheduled for Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. ET, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Phase 2a trial is evaluating neflamapimod in participants with nonfluent variant primary progressive aphasia (nfvPPA). CervoMed recently completed enrollment for this study, which involved 25 participants and was conducted at leading academic medical centers in the United States and the United Kingdom. The presentation will highlight biomarker data from at least 22 study participants, focusing on 12-week results for two plasma biomarkers: neurofilament light chain (NfL) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP).
The abstract describing these biomarker results was accepted for the Plenary 6 (Hot Topics) session. Neflamapimod is an investigational, orally administered small molecule that inhibits the alpha isoform of p38 MAP kinase, a target implicated in neuroinflammation and synaptic dysfunction. The company noted that neflamapimod was granted Orphan Drug Designation by the U.S. FDA for frontotemporal dementia in 2024.
