Century Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: IPSC) issued a press release on October 2, 2026, announcing the presentation of nonclinical data for its iPSC-derived islet replacement therapy, CNTY-813, at the 62nd Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) held in Milan, Italy.
The data, presented by Grant Welstead, Ph.D., Senior Vice President and Head of Research, focused on the company’s Allo-Evasion™ 5.0 technology. The study demonstrated that CNTY-813 maintained glycemic control in diabetic mouse models for over eleven months until the graft was removed. All mice administered with the therapy achieved normoglycemia, and the islets showed glucose-stimulated insulin secretion potency similar to primary islets.
Additional nonclinical findings highlighted the scalability and stability of the therapy. Century reported that five clinical-scale batches produced consistent final product profiles, and the 29-day manufacturing process exceeded purity criteria at every stage. The company also demonstrated that clinical-scale product remained functional after 96 hours of cold storage and that engraftment via the intended clinical route of administration was successful in rats.
Century noted that following a pre-IND meeting with the FDA, the company remains on track to submit an Investigational New Drug (IND) application for CNTY-813 in the fourth quarter of 2026. Initial clinical data from the first-in-human study is anticipated in the second half of 2027.
