Cartesian Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: RNAC) announced on September 29, 2026, additional retreatment data for its lead investigational cell therapy, Descartes-08, in patients with myasthenia gravis (MG). The filing details observations from five participants in the Phase 2 trial who experienced a recurrence of MG symptoms following a 12-month follow-up after their initial treatment course.

The retreatment regimen consisted of six once-weekly infusions. The data indicates that patients retreated at a median of 16.6 months following the initial course experienced greater improvement in MG symptoms compared to the initial treatment. At the 12-month mark following retreatment, the mean decrease in Myasthenia Gravis Activities of Daily Living (MG-ADL) scores was 6.6 points from baseline, with a standard deviation of 4.2. The mean reduction in the Myasthenia Gravis Composite (MGC) score was 15 points from baseline, with a standard deviation of 6.2.

According to the filing, all retreated patients experienced a clinically meaningful reduction across both MGC and MG-ADL scores. Specifically, all patients achieved at least a 3-point reduction in MGC and a 2-point reduction in MG-ADL. Four of the five patients maintained this clinically meaningful MG-ADL reduction through Month 12 following retreatment.

In terms of safety, the filing notes that Descartes-08 was generally well-tolerated through Month 12 following retreatment, with adverse events described as transient and mild. No serious adverse events were reported during the retreatment period. The company reported no cases of cytokine release syndrome, immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome, cytopenias, or hypogammaglobulinemia.

Cartesian Therapeutics stated that the combination of sustained symptom improvement and the ability to retreat if symptoms return supports the potential of Descartes-08 to address unmet needs in MG treatment. The company remains on track to report topline results from its Phase 3 AURORA trial of Descartes-08 in MG in the first quarter of 2027.
