Byline Bancorp, Inc. (NYSE: BY) has announced a series of executive leadership changes effective January 1, 2027, as part of its ongoing succession planning. The changes include the retirement of two senior executives and the appointment of new leaders to their respective roles.

Brogan M. Ptacin, Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Banking, will retire effective December 31, 2026. Mr. Ptacin joined Byline following the acquisition of First Bank & Trust in 2018 and has served in his current role since 2019. Following his retirement, he will remain with the Bank in a non-executive, part-time, advisory capacity.

Mr. Ptacin is being succeeded by Sean H. McGuire, who has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Banking Officer. Mr. McGuire, age 58, joined Byline in July 2019 and currently serves as Commercial Banking Group Head. He has over 35 years of commercial banking experience, including previous roles at MB Financial Bank and Fifth Third Bank. In his new role, Mr. McGuire will lead an expanded commercial banking organization and report to Alberto Paracchini, President and Chief Executive Officer.

In a separate leadership transition, Mark Fucinato, Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, will retire effective December 31, 2026. Mr. Fucinato joined Byline in 2019 and has served as Chief Credit Officer since 2020. Following his retirement, he will remain with the Bank in a non-executive, part-time, advisory capacity.

Mr. Fucinato is being succeeded by Scott Hawthorne, age 46, who has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer. Mr. Hawthorne joined Byline in June 2023 and currently serves as Deputy Chief Credit Officer. He has over 20 years of banking and credit experience, including previous roles at Fifth Third Bank and MB Financial Bank.

Additionally, Darrin Bacon has been appointed Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Banking. Mr. Bacon joined Byline as part of its acquisition of First Bank & Trust in 2018 and has served as Senior Vice President - Commercial Banking Group Head since 2019. He will report to Sean H. McGuire, Chief Commercial Banking Officer.

The Company stated that these planned retirements reflect the strength of its succession planning process and that the new appointees are well-positioned to continue building on the success of the commercial banking and credit leadership.
