Box Inc. (NYSE: BOX) CEO Aaron Levie outlined a strategy for artificial intelligence development, suggesting that the most significant opportunities lie in products that are currently only barely feasible but could become transformative as computing power and AI capabilities improve.

In a post on X on Monday, Levie argued that rapidly accelerating AI progress requires companies to think beyond current technology limitations. He stated that developers should build with a vision that accounts for at least a few orders of magnitude of capability improvement or available token volume.

Levie emphasized that the strongest opportunities involve products that can deliver immediate value to customers using technology that is barely possible today, while pursuing a long-term mission that feels nearly impossible with current technology.

The executive also pointed to the importance of data processing, noting that some ideas are currently "barely economically viable" because AI models are still in early stages of developing the capabilities required to make them work.

The commentary follows recent remarks from venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya, who predicted that the next 18 months will be "wild" as capabilities rapidly improve and model costs potentially approach zero.
