Blaize Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: BZAI) announced a restructuring plan on September 24, 2026, approved by the company's Board of Directors. The plan is designed to reduce operating expenses and improve operational efficiency.
The restructuring plan includes a reduction in force that is expected to affect approximately 26% of Blaize's workforce. The company anticipates that the plan will be substantially completed by December 31, 2026.
Blaize projects that the restructuring will generate annualized savings of approximately $7.5 million to $8.4 million. These savings are expected to be reinvested into growth initiatives focused on higher-growth and more profitable areas of the business, including the hybrid AI platform, AI Services, autonomous systems, and national-scale sovereign AI programs.
Total costs and cash expenditures related to the restructuring are estimated to be between $1.1 million and $1.3 million. The company expects the majority of these pre-tax charges to be incurred during the third quarter of 2026, with the expenses primarily related to employee severance and benefits.
In a statement regarding the decision, Blaize Chief Executive Officer Dinakar Munagala noted that the move preserves the capabilities necessary to execute the company's strategy and focuses resources on areas where Blaize creates the most value.
