Bitcoin is showing signs of tightening supply as exchange reserves remain stable while DeFi demand grows and new stablecoin liquidity enters the market. Data from on-chain funding pools indicates that Bitcoin's Total Value Locked (TVL) rose to $4.46 billion, representing a 2.35% increase over the last 24 hours. This metric makes Bitcoin the only major blockchain to post positive daily TVL growth alongside a positive exchange outflow signal.
Concurrently, exchange reserve flow data reveals a critical divergence in holder behavior. Bitcoin exchange reserves are nearly flat, up only 532.66 BTC (+0.052%) in the last day. Notably, Binance specifically saw a net outflow of 428.23 BTC, indicating that holders are not moving their assets to exchanges to sell. This contrasts sharply with Ethereum, which saw a 7.2% exchange inflow, and Solana, which saw a 0.91% increase.
This stability in exchange supply is being bolstered by new liquidity entering the crypto ecosystem. Market data shows that the USDC market cap expanded by $323.6 million over the last 24 hours, with $88.99 million of that net issuance occurring specifically on the Ethereum network. As new stablecoin supply provides dry powder for purchasing, the lack of exchange-side supply expansion for Bitcoin means this liquidity is more likely to bid up BTC than other assets.

What would change this read
If Bitcoin exchange reserves were to surge above +2,000 BTC in a single day, it would signal a shift in holder intent toward distribution rather than conviction holding. Similarly, a reversal of Bitcoin chain TVL back below $4.3 billion would undermine the thesis that DeFi demand is currently driving a tighter float for the asset.
