bioAffinity Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: BIAF) announced on October 15, 2026, that it will sponsor a Learning Theater presentation at CHEST 2026, the annual meeting of the American College of Chest Physicians. The presentation, titled "Lung Nodules, Lung Microenvironment, Predictive Models and Clinician Risk Stratification: Using CyPath Lung Testing for Early Diagnosis of Lung Cancer," is scheduled for October 21, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. MST at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Chief Medical Officer Gordon H. Downie, MD, PhD, will host the session. The presentation will focus on the challenges clinicians face in managing pulmonary nodules, particularly as screening rates increase. Dr. Downie will use clinical cases to discuss the limitations of predictive models and the potential role of the lung microenvironment in improving lung cancer risk stratification.
The company highlighted data regarding its CyPath Lung test, a noninvasive sputum-based test that uses flow cytometry and AI to evaluate cellular characteristics associated with lung cancer. In a published clinical trial involving high-risk patients with indeterminate lung nodules less than 20 millimeters, CyPath Lung demonstrated 92% sensitivity, 87% specificity, 88% accuracy, and a 99% negative predictive value.
In conjunction with the conference, bioAffinity’s Medical and Scientific Advisory Board will convene to discuss the company’s scientific and clinical programs. This includes the expansion of CyPath Lung into the federal healthcare system, an ongoing large-scale longitudinal clinical study, and research into a new investigational test for asthma and COPD-related lung inflammation.
The current members of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Board include David Hill, MD (Chair of the American Lung Association Board of Directors); David Ost, MD, MPH (University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center); Daniel Sterman, MD (New York University Langone Medical Center); Sheila Habib, MD (South Texas Veterans Health Care Systems); J. Scott Ferguson, MD (University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health); Neil Alexis, PhD (University of North Carolina School of Medicine); and Sandeep Bansal, MD (Medical Director of Lung Innovations Network).
