Battalion Oil Corporation announced the appointment of John "Brad" Juneau to its Board of Directors, effective September 30, 2026. The appointment increased the size of the Board from four to five members. The Company stated that Mr. Juneau qualifies as an independent director under the rules of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the NYSE American.
Mr. Juneau is the founder and sole manager of Juneau Exploration, L.P., a private prospect generation and exploration company established in 1998. He currently serves as a director of Talos Energy Inc., where he is a member of the Compensation Committee and the Safety, Sustainability, and Corporate Responsibility Committee. He also serves as a director of Contango Silver & Gold Inc., having previously served as its Chairman until 2025.
Battalion Oil’s Chief Executive Officer, Matt Steele, commented on the appointment, noting Mr. Juneau’s extensive experience in finding and developing hydrocarbons and building companies. Mr. Juneau holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University and has over 40 years of experience in the energy sector.
According to the filing, the Company’s Board of Directors was expanded to five members in connection with Mr. Juneau’s appointment as an independent director. His appointment follows the Board’s previously stated intention to identify and appoint additional independent directors announced in March 2026. The Company stated that his appointment maintains a majority-independent Board.
