Aviat Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVNW) announced on September 30, 2026, that its subsidiary, Aviat Networks (India) Ltd., has entered into an intellectual property license agreement with Dixon Electro Appliances Private Ltd. (DEAPL). Under the terms of the deal, Aviat has granted Dixon a limited license to use specific intellectual property, including technical know-how, for the manufacture, use, and offer for sale of microwave radios.
The agreement is accompanied by a manufacturing and supply agreement between Aviat Networks (India) Ltd. and Dixon. Under this structure, Dixon will manufacture and sell approved products to select Indian telecommunications operators. Aviat retains ownership of its intellectual property and continues to provide software and services to the partnership.
Aviat stated that this license-to-manufacture model allows the company to extend its reach in India’s growing microwave infrastructure market. The partnership is designed to mitigate the logistical challenges associated with international shipping and import delays by producing radios locally. Aviat also noted that the partnership expands its existing capabilities in India, which include Research and Development, Repair and Return, and logistics and deployment services.
Aviat estimates the demand for microwave links in India to be approximately 250,000 over the next four years. The company described the structure as a scalable platform to pursue this opportunity and said it is expected to create a higher-quality, more capital-efficient growth profile for shareholders.
Pete Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer of Aviat Networks, commented on the partnership, noting that India represents one of the largest growth opportunities in the global microwave market. He stated that the model allows Aviat to serve this market while focusing resources on innovation, software, services, and customer relationships.
