Aurora Innovation, Inc. reported its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, in a filing dated October 28. The company announced that its Aurora Driver surpassed 500,000 commercial driverless miles in September, maintaining 100% on-time delivery since launch. The filing highlights a significant commercial milestone with a memorandum of understanding (MOU) from Charger Logistics. Under this agreement, Aurora will scale a fleet of 500 trucks through a Driver as Service (DaaS) model, representing a potential multi-year revenue stream in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Delivery of these trucks is expected in 2027 and 2028, with operations initially planned along the Dallas to Laredo corridor.

Regarding manufacturing, Aurora is executing a phased production plan to meet growing customer demand. The company is currently working with Roush and Volvo to establish an annualized production capability of more than 1,000 trucks. While initial ramp volume was previously constrained by material availability and testing, the company now expects to achieve a targeted production rate of 20 trucks per week in early December. Additionally, Aurora is partnering with PACCAR to integrate the Aurora Driver onto Peterbilt and Kenworth production lines, with plans for fully driverless operations early next year.

Financially, third quarter 2026 revenue totaled $3 million. The company reported a third-quarter operating loss of $257 million, which included stock-based compensation of $54 million. Excluding SBC, research and development costs totaled $160 million, while selling, general, and administrative expenses were $38 million. Cash used in operations was approximately $170 million, with capital expenditures totaling $36 million. Aurora ended the quarter with over $1 billion in cash and short-term investments. The company anticipates cash use of approximately $250 million during the fourth quarter of 2026 and expects 2026 revenue of approximately $9 million.
