ASP Isotopes Inc. announced on October 26, 2026, that its subsidiary, Tetra4 Proprietary Limited, has completed the commissioning of its Virginia Gas Project and achieved stable production of liquid helium. The company stated that liquid helium is currently accumulating in Tetra4’s cryogenic storage ahead of initial deliveries to contracted offtakers.

The Virginia Gas Project is located in the Free State Province of South Africa and holds the country’s first onshore petroleum production right. It is described as the first integrated producer of both liquid helium and liquefied natural gas (LNG) in South Africa.

ASP Isotopes, which is an advanced materials company focused on critical materials for industries such as nuclear medicine and electronics, noted that Phase 1 of the project is now in stable operation. The company expects to ramp up production to reach nameplate capacity during the fourth quarter of 2026.

Paul Mann, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ASP Isotopes and Chief Executive Officer of Renergen, commented on the milestone. He stated that with global helium supply under significant pressure, a new, independent source is significant. He noted that offtake partners have been waiting for this production and that the company is finalizing logistics for first deliveries.

ASP Isotopes also operates isotope enrichment facilities in Pretoria, South Africa, and a gas production facility in the Free State Province. The company holds a 94.5% equity interest in Tetra4 Proprietary Limited.
