Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) is scheduled to hold its latest product launch event on Wednesday, with the company teasing a "Surprise and shine" presentation. The event is set to begin at 10 a.m. PT at Apple Park and will be streamed online.
The primary focus of the event is expected to be the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggested that a teaser image for the event could hint at a mechanical camera aperture and a new blue finish. The device is anticipated to feature the A20 Pro chip, which is reportedly built on a 2-nanometer process. The Pro Max model is expected to offer similar upgrades, including a larger display and battery, along with camera improvements.
A major highlight of the event is the expected debut of Apple’s first foldable iPhone. The device, potentially named the iPhone Ultra, is described as a book-style foldable phone. This launch is viewed as a move to compete directly with Samsung Electronics in the premium foldable market.
Apple is also expected to introduce updates to its wearables. The Apple Watch Series 12 is rumored to feature a faster processor, improved heart-rate monitoring, and new health features, while retaining a largely familiar design. A ceramic case option is also mentioned. The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is expected to focus on internal upgrades, such as a new processor and enhanced health tracking, rather than a major redesign. Additionally, the AirPods 5 are expected to include an updated H3 chip for better sound and lower latency.
Apple shares closed at $319.97 on Friday, down 2.51%. The stock fell another 0.36% in the premarket session at the time of writing.
