Apple Inc. (AAPL) is reportedly preparing to launch the most expensive iPhone model to date, according to a report by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) cited by Benzinga. The anticipated price increase for the iPhone 18 Pro is attributed to a significant surge in memory component costs.
TrendForce, a market research firm, has analyzed the cost structure of the upcoming device. The report indicates that the cost of memory for the 256-gigabyte version of the iPhone 18 Pro has risen by nearly 400 percent over the past year.
Despite the sharp increase in component expenses, TrendForce characterizes the overall price hike as "moderate." The firm projects a price increase of approximately 20 percent for the new model.
